TASS hosted a press conference dedicated to the launch of the second International contest of information projects for foreign media — The Honest View Media Award.
Anton Chermensky, Head of the Information Policy Department of Rossotrudnichestvo, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Head of International Projects of Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House Tatiana Mityusova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Head of the Department of Advertising and Marketing of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Vladimir Lomonosov, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Head of the International Projects Department of Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House, told about the goals, conditions of participation and nominations of the contest, as well as about the coverage by foreign authors of humanitarian projects with Russian participation, aimed at expanding economic, social and cultural cooperation with other countries.
Applications for the Honest Look contest for foreign media will be accepted until 21 November, and the results will be announced before the New Year. The main nominations this year are: «High-tech production», «Social and humanitarian issues», «Territorial development», «International cultural partnership with Russia», «Promising industries», «Publicist and documentary». In addition, the organisers plan to introduce several mock nominations for those who write about Russia in different ways, said Anton Chermensky, head of Rossotrudnichestvo’s information policy department
The organisers of the contest, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, have decided to award the winners with cash prizes. The prize fund is 2.5 million roubles. The contest is open to media editorial offices, including TV, radio, Internet publications, print media, individual authors, including photojournalists, bloggers, who have reached the age of 18.
«This year we will go with the traditional scheme, we have several nominations for which we will award. The prize fund — we thought for a long time how to be, we decided that it would be better with money. We are primarily interested in the young audience, but if some work is sent by an elderly person, it doesn’t matter,» said Anton Chermensky, Head of the Information Policy Department of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The selection of works will take place in two stages. First, the experts will form a shortlist, weeding out unsuitable publications. After that, the jury will select the winners. In addition to the applications that will be received for the contest, the jury will independently select publications about Russia by monitoring the information space. The main goal of the contest is to identify and encourage foreign media representatives — authors of TV, radio, print and Internet publications — for their objective and comprehensive coverage of humanitarian projects with Russian participation, which are aimed at expanding economic, social and cultural co-operation.

Synopsis:
In 2022, the contest received 118 applications from 28 near and far abroad countries. The Honest Look Media Award unites the authors of publications in mass media and social networks that contribute to the international development of Russia’s relations with foreign countries.

- nomination «Territorial Development» — Slavisa Milacic, media channel AI Mayadeen, Republic of Montenegro;
- nomination «Social/Humanitarian Issues» — Mutabar Nosirova, Sughd Regional Television and Radio, Republic of Tajikistan;
- nomination «International Cultural Partnership with Russia» — Irina Alshova, Laguna TV, Republic of Belarus;
- nomination «Promising Industries» — Nadia Zamani, RUTECH.BLOGOCIAL.COM, Republic of Iran.
